Unless you can rock climb, or have made contact with aliens, there is no way to the top of Devil’s Tower. This geological marvel was made famous in Spielberg’s Close Encounters of a Third Kind and if you stand really still you can hear that 4 note melody… on the breeze… Well… okay maybe not. But you’ll definitely see why he chose Devil’s Tower as the films mysterious location. It is also worth mentioning that the Natives have an equally wild legend of how the tower came to be, and consider the place sacred ground.
